HOW WE STARTED

The Larry & Ratcliff Ministry of Gifts LLC
Our story is one of love, faith, and legacy.
This journey began with the memory of our beloved son, Fred Lee Ratcliff, Jr., who was born on September 8, 1980. Fred brought immeasurable joy and creativity into the lives of everyone who knew him. A gifted musician, he played drums and sang in the choir, sharing his passion for worship through every beat and note. He was also a talented artist, known for his beautiful sketches—often flowers and roses—which he lovingly gifted to friends and family. Each piece reflected the kindness and warmth that defined his spirit.
Fred had big dreams. He aspired to attend barber school, pursue computer animation, and one day work with Walt Disney Studios. Sadly, his life was tragically cut short at the age of 24 due to a pulmonary embolism on July 7, 2008. In his honor, we began giving back to the community by distributing backpacks and school supplies to children at Lighthouse Church and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. This tradition continues to help students begin each school year equipped for success, carrying forward Fred’s generous and loving spirit.
Our mission deepened with the passing of Luther Larry, my devoted husband, who went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023, at the age of 64. Luther was a man of deep faith, a devoted family man, and a servant leader. He was meticulous in his work, gifted in poetry, and passionate about helping others. Whether volunteering at church or supporting community events, Luther gave selflessly and faithfully.
To honor both Fred and Luther, we remain committed to serving our community with love and purpose. Through acts of kindness, charitable giving, and a continued presence in our neighborhood, we strive to keep their legacies alive—spreading the same hope, creativity, and compassion they shared throughout their lives.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sheila Larry
